I am SO EXCITED to announce that our upcoming film, The Wizard and The Scholar (or, A Rapscallion Runs Amok in Rye), will premiere at The Screening Room in Tucson on 29 October celebrating International Robin Hood Day, during Halloween Week!

Meet me — James G. Maynard — at the premiere! Dress in Medieval clothing! Give us your worst British accent! Wave your foam sword in the air like you just don’t care! (Details on the event shall be forthcoming!)

Set in the year 1156, this film follows two amazing women - Elara, a wizard without power, and Adelaide, a Moorish nomad on the search for truth in all things, as they join forces with Robin Hood to solve a mystery and save the seaport town of Rye from an existential threat.

Cape Town Squad International Film Festival calls this film “One of the most ambitious AI powered films yet, with exciting storylines!”

Be among the first people to see one of the first AI-powered feature-length films yet created anywhere in the world.

Generative AI is being called “The Sixth Great Age of Filmmaking,” putting the powers of movie studios into the hands of everyone who wants to create their own dream film. This film, running a little over an hour, is composed from around 2,500 mostly-AI powered clips, showing a benchmark of where the technology stands now, and providing a glimpse of the films we may be seeing in coming years.

The Wizard and The Scholar is a delightful historical drama/pro-science/mystery/pro-inclusion/adventure story set in 12th-century England. The characters have talents and foibles, dreams and fears, love and anger, victories and defeats....
