AS 209 may have a Little BABY Planet! - The Cosmic Companion VIP Newsletter 11 August 2022

Orbiting a young star, may be one of the youngest exoplanets yet detected - a little BABY planet!

Hello everyone!

The ALMA network of radio telescopes just found signs of a young planet. A baby planet, one might say. Who better to deliver the story than a baby?

Next week on The Cosmic Companion - Artificial Intelligence Explores the Universe! We welcome Yosuke Kobayashi to the show. He is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Florida and Steward Observatory. For his first-ever interview in English, we will talk about his development of a new AI-driven emulator, designed to model the formation and interactions of ancient galaxies.

Make sure to join us, starting on Tuesday 16 August!

Clear skies!

James
